The Woes of the Working Class

It’s 2:32am, EST. I just got home from work about an hour ago. I began the day shift at 2pm. This is how my life is going to be for the next 10 shifts…how the hell am I going to find time to record a podcast?

Welcome to ‘The Woes of the Working Class.’

Surprisingly, my 3-book deal with Permuted Press DID NOT allow me to quit my day job. What did you expect? A multi-million dollar mansion in Tahiti? No, I still have to brave the trenches everyday, working to pay the bills. Those silly bills. You know; rent, phone, internet, etc…I vote we all go back to the barter system. I think our economy would be far better off if we did.

Regardless, I still have to find time to record. Time. Don’t even get me started on that one. I can only record when the house is empty. I have a roommate who is the bestest but I’m still self concious about people hearing me while I do my work. I don’t have a closet studio like some people I know (yeah, I’m lookin at you baldie), all of it is done in my bedroom. Working the night shift ten days in a row leaves me very little breathing room. There’s about a three hour span from when I wake up to when I have to start getting ready to leave. If I didn’t have to shower it might be 3 hours and ten minutes but you know, I like to smell Zest fully clean.

It will get done though and on time.

Somehow, the work always gets done…

  1. I think most fans realize that you have a real life and podcasting does not pay the bills…..I realize it and well am willing to wait a little while longer for each podcast if that means I get to hold a copy of you book someday.

    Its cool

    take care and again congratulations…..
